Rolling red wine decanter, featured in “Food and Wine Magazine”. Created by Nicholas Kekic from sparkling clear blown glass with swirls of white cane. Holds a full 750ml bottle of wine. Very elegant.
More Info. The artist designed this decanter first for it’s function: to enhance the breathing process unlike any other type of decanter for red wine. Like most decanters, pouring the wine into the wide waist of the form allows more surface area of the wine to reach the air than when left in a bottle. But unlike other decanters, this rolling one is unique in that when in use, the wine rolls inside the decanter gently folding more oxygen into itself, allowing the red wine to breathe more effectively.
To Use: The decanter is designed to hold a full 750 ml bottle although you should decant only what you plan to drink. Place the decanter bottom on it’s side, centering the point on the bottom of the decanter in the middle of the surface on which you plan to roll it. Push the neck of the decanter gently and it will roll in a concentric circle over and over that point until it finds a resting place, usually the low side of the table. To pour a clean glassful when decanting an older bottle of wine, hold the neck of the decanter and pour slowly into the glass so as to leave the sediment on the shoulder of the decanter form.
